I just got this book (from the Wish List, thanks to a generous member of Team Dancing Bug) compiling some of the Dell Popeye comic book stories by Bud Sagendorf.

 

It's a beautiful tribute to some truly weird comics from the 1940s and 1950s.  And while I'm always partial to comics compilation books that include full issues and (especially) covers, this one couldn't have been more meticulously, thoughtfully and imaginatively packaged, with plenty of extra contextual information, photos, and additional biographical artwork.

 

Another terrific book from Craig Yoe (Yoe Books!) that captures the silly fun of old comics for kids.

This is an actual screen grab from a video I saw on The Daily Show (see it at about the 8:10 mark at this link) of Sarah Palin, in Boston just before her Paul Revere remarks.

 

The Daily Show aired this news video footage without comment on the fact that THERE ARE CLEARLY TWO SARAH PALINS!

 

 

You truly must view this video clip to believe it.

 

There can be only one explanation:  SARAH PALIN IS A TIME TRAVELER!  We are looking at the present Sarah Palin, and another Sarah Palin that travelled back (or forward) in time to meet herself.

 

This raises many troubling and fascination questions:

 

– If Sarah Palin has the ability to transverse the time continuum, should we be quite so quick to judge her knowledge of American history? Perhaps she knows quite a bit more than we think we do.

 

– Dare we decline to elect an American president who can TRAVEL THROUGH TIME?  Seems like that may be somewhat of an advantage for our nation.

 

– Does this mean that Percival Dunwoody is not the only Idiot Time Traveler?

I recommend the great, fun new book by Dave Roman, Astronaut Academy.  But more importantly, it gets big thumbs up from my kids.
