Mark Evanier writes a blog post today about extras (background actors), and it reminded me of the greatest extra anecdote I've ever heard… and I learned of it on Mark's own website.
An extra in a crowd scene not only gets himself a line in the movie by ad-libbing it out loud during a rehearsal, it becomes one of the best, most cherished lines in movie comedy history!
